Brenda S. Bruner, 66 of Springfield, IL, died at 1:05 am, Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was born March 23, 1956 in Jacksonville, IL to James H. Bruner Sr. and Susie B. (Thomas) Bruner.

Survivors include five children, James H. (Jessica) Bruner III, Courtney (Zachary) Radwine, Felecia Walker, Brooke (Gretchen Snyder) Walker and Henry William Porter; eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Hattie (Larry) Norvell and Diana Grooms; three brothers, Louis Bruner, James H. (Felicia) Bruner, Jr and Robert L. (Joyce Campbell) Bruner; two uncles; eight nieces and nephews and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Brenda was a member of Kumler United Methodist Church, where she was active in Bible Study Group and involved in several activities.

Her focus was always on her family.

She worked for the State of Illinois, and she retired from the Springfield Housing Authority as an Executive Assistant to the Deputy Director.

Family will host a memorial service at 12:00 pm, Monday, August 8, 2022 at Kumler United Methodist Church with Pastor Don Goodenow officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to Kumler United Methodist Church.
