Charles “Chuck” A. Lenhart, 73, of Springfield, passed away at 6:39 am, Saturday, December 21, 2024, at his home. He was born November 17, 1951, in Springfield, the son of the late Robert T. and Donna (Nickelson) Lenhart. He married Frances “Fran” Berkman on November 24, 1990, and she survives.

Also surviving are two children, Bryon Charles Lenhart of Palm Coast, FL and Nicole Renee Lenhart of Springfield; five grandchildren, Cierra, Maya, Allyssia Hardy all of Springfield and Jainah and Loukas Lenhart both of Palm Coast, FL; five siblings, Sarah Quigley of Sun City West, AZ, Robert (Beverly) Lenhart of Springfield, Linda Danner of Auburn, Richard (Tammy) Lenhart of Pawnee, and Patty Stoutamyer of Springfield; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Chuck attended the Air Force Academy and was a United States Air Force veteran. He worked as an operating engineer and retired from the Springfield Police Department after 25 years of service.

Chuck enjoyed woodworking and riding motorcycles. He also loved to travel and has been to all 50 states. His favorite place to visit was Yellowstone National Park.

Visitation: 2 – 5 pm, Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 11:30 am, Monday, December 30, 2024, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Chaplain Scott Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross or charity of the donor’s choice.
