Helen Patricia “Pat” Creviston, 90, of Springfield, IL, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at her home. Pat was born on December 9, 1934, daughter of Leonard and Helen Schmitz. She married the love of her life, James R. Creviston on October 3, 1953, and he preceded her in death on July 20, 2018.

Pat is survived by her children: Rita Bregenhorn of Springfield, Jean Schroeder of Spokane, WA, Paula White of Lavernia, TX, Mark (Terri) Creviston of Rochester, IL, Mary Brown of Springfield, Anita Dean of Springfield, and Pam Kufahl of Atlanta, GA; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister, Toni Rolando; brother, Joe Schmitz; fur baby, Sugar, a toy poodle.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Jim Creviston; granddaughter, Tara Bregenhorn; brothers, Mike Schmitz and Ralph Schmitz and sister, Sue Harper.

Pat was a graduate of Sacred Heart. She was a homemaker and worked part-time at JCPenney’s. She loved her family and nurtured many others children.

She loved line dancing with the Silver Steppers and square dancing with the Chummy Chainers. Pat was an avid seamstress and loved to create many beautiful items.

Pat was a member of Little Flower Church. She enjoyed volunteering at the Senior Center and being involved with the Come Share Program.

Visitation: 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield. A prayer service will be held at 4:00 pm.

Funeral Mass: 10:30 am, Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Church of the Little Flower with Rev. Al Kemme officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Little Flower Church and School or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
