James “Jimmy” P. Endres, 84, of Springfield, passed away at 10:47 am, Friday, December 6, 2024, at his home. He was born July 29, 1940, in Springfield, the son of Joseph and Mary C. (Stanton) Endres.

He is survived by three daughters, Lorie (Jeffrey) Shifflett of Sherman, IL, Chrystal (Brian) Williams of Jacksonville, TX and Patricia (Nick Fanale) Endres of Navarre, FL; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren; three siblings, Linda S. Rotherham, John P. (Mary J.) Endres and Dorothy (Dale) Ciotti, all of Springfield; former spouse and caregiver, Susie Leforce of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joseph Endres; three sisters, Marylou Jones, Kathleen Burgar and Rita A. Sidener.

Jimmy was a United States Army veteran. He retired as Captain from the Springfield Fire Department with over 30 years of service. He was a faithful Catholic.

Memorial Mass: 10:30 am, Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Reverend Daniel McGrath officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
