Johnie Lee Fields, 72, of Springfield, IL, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at his home. He was born on May 12, 1951 in Springfield, IL to Frank G. and Eva D. Vaughn Fields and they preceded him in death.

He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Fields, Sally Martin, and Allie May Fields.

Johnie is survived by his daughter, Kimberly (Nicolas) Romero of Springfield; two grandchildren; two brothers, William (Sue) Fields of Kinsgport, TN, and Thomas Fields of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was a resident of Springfield for most of his life and served our country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Graveside Service: Hosted by the family at 10:00 am, Monday, May 6, 2024 at Camp Butler National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted.
