Michael G. Parkhill 76, of Springfield died at his home 12:54 pm, Thursday, November 21, 2024. He was born January 4, 1948, in Greensboro, NC to Everett and Charlotte (Keller) Parkhill.

Survivors include one daughter, Amy Parkhill of Springfield; one son, Miles (Courtney) Parkhill of Springfield; three granddaughters, Drew Parkhill, Birdie Parkhill and Alise Parkhill-Bowman; one sister, Carole (Bernell) Albertson of Red Bud, IL; one brother, William J. (Donna) Parkhill of Dover, DE; two nieces, Lindsey (Josh) and Kristen (Scott) and one nephew, Chance (Julie) step-nieces Anita (Mark), Brie and Erin and step-nephew Rick (Ruth); great nieces and step-nieces, great nephews and step-nephews, and great great step-nephews. and his former wife, Cindy Parkhill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, nephew, Billy and great niece, Anaya.

Michael was a US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War.

He attended the First United Methodist Church and enjoyed the ocean, warm weather and was a member of the Central Illinois Numismatic Association.

He was a resident of Springfield but grew up in Red Bud, IL. He also lived in Miami, FL, San Diego, CA and Mountain View, CA. He worked in Audio Visual Sales.

Memorial Gathering: 5 – 7 pm, Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Graveside Service: 10 am, Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
